fill in the blanks

Think about space, escaping, hiding spaces, building a house on a moving object. thriving in departure zones like bus stations and airports. standing still in a dust storm or at the top of Martin Place. waiting watching. think about closing your eyes and imagine running so fast. you breathe fast, start gasping for air and you haven't moved a muscle. lying at the bottom of the pool and looking up through the water. diving. listening to your breath. closing your eyes.

then think about construction/fabrication/make up masks/costumes/houses.

games/ ladders/interiors/superfluous decoration and the definition of O.T.T . and imagine how much you can hide under that distraction, colourful beautiful creative mess.

  1. I love this! I've been wanting to experiment with embroidery for a while now. I do embroidery on clothes etc but I really want to 'draw' with it in white thread on white linen and then paint watery colours over the top and see how the colours stick to the thread. I imagine they would intensify but I don't know if that's true!

Loving the blog Amanda! Keep it up!

  2. that will be great! it's beautiful to draw with because its repetative, binding, interactive. it feels good to work and rework the paper. i wonder how it will be with something soft? yeah. i think the thread will be more condusive to the inks, where as the linen isn't as absorbant. this will be cool Coco!

you could textile project collaborate with Jana....???!!
