fill in the blanks

Think about space, escaping, hiding spaces, building a house on a moving object. thriving in departure zones like bus stations and airports. standing still in a dust storm or at the top of Martin Place. waiting watching. think about closing your eyes and imagine running so fast. you breathe fast, start gasping for air and you haven't moved a muscle. lying at the bottom of the pool and looking up through the water. diving. listening to your breath. closing your eyes.

then think about construction/fabrication/make up masks/costumes/houses.

games/ ladders/interiors/superfluous decoration and the definition of O.T.T . and imagine how much you can hide under that distraction, colourful beautiful creative mess.

my studio

(picture 2009)
so, welcome to a small window into my world: like all windows the glass could be foggy, perhaps tinted, or even so old that you can't see through it. but at best it is a window allowing a small view into a messy, happy, very personal space.
I have a studio on a farm in northern nsw. it is an old workers house, previously inhabited by mice, sometimes snakes, rats and frogs, but ever since i took over in 2005 (*well really it was 2008 that i would sleep here also) i have been occupying the space and hiding in it. they almost cleared out. one can only hope.I paint here, sleep here, read here. I made a garden and planted vines that were nasty and would keep people far away, hoping it would grow over and make a private space. but now i am getting lonely so i decided to show people and maybe let them visit. i love to show off my stovetop coffee machine.
please note. the layout changes every few hours depending on how focused i am.
